- Put the bread cubes and raisins in a large bowl.
- Pour 1/2 cup milk over the bread and raisin; set a side.
- Beat into the eggs, the sugar, the remaining 1-1/2 cup of milk, and nutmeg.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and stir.
- Pour it into a buttered 1-1/2 quart baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F about 25 minutes or until done.
