Bread and Butter Pickles

This recipe is from my MIL's family. I'm not a fan of sweet pickles but my mom really likes these.

Yields: 3-6 jars

  1. Wash the cucumbers and slice thinly. Chop the onions and peppers and combine with the cucumbers and salt. Let the mixture stand for 3 hours and drain.
  2. Combine the vinegar, sugar and spices in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the drained cucumbers and heat but do not boil.
  4. Pack in canning jars and seal at once while still hot.
