Brandied Strawberries

I got this recipe from a The Creative Christmas Kitchen.

• Yields: 1 1/2 pints

Ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 cups  firmly packed brown sugar
• 1  cup water
• 1 (16 ounce) package frozen unsweetened strawberries, thawed and drained
• 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
• 1⁄2 cup brandy

Directions

1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
2. Stir in strawberries and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
3. Remove from heat, stir in brandy.
4. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
5. Serve with cake or ice cream.
