Braised Beef Steak Maroon

Ingredients
Braising liquid
- 1 onion
- 4 ounces tomato paste (or puree)
- 1 3⁄4 cups beef broth
- 1⁄4 cup port wine or 1⁄4 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 10 drops Tabasco sauce (optional)
Steaks
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1⁄4 cup flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 4 braising steaks
Directions
- Put all the ingredients for the braising liquid into a food processor and process until smooth. Leave until ready to use.
- Heat oil in large skillet.
- In a shallow dish, mix the flour with the salt and pepper. Dredge the steaks in the seasoned flour and fry 2-3 minutes each side.
- Carefully pour the liquid over the steaks, cover and turn down heat. Simmer for 90 minutes.
- Remove steaks to serving dish and pour sauce over.
- Serve and enjoy!
