I was trying to find a recipe for bo-bo balls and wasn't having any luck. Finally I gave up and tryed inventing one. I don't know that it was exactly bo-bo balls, but everyone raved about them. These could be used as an appetizer or served as a main course with sweet and sour sauce and rice/veggies. Show more

Directions

  1. oil for frying.
  2. Mix the pork, green onion, egg and flour and mix well.
  3. Form into meat balls and roll in the soya sauce.
  4. Cook at a medium low heat in a non-stick pan adding additional soya sauce to prevent from sticking.
  5. When the meatballs are cooked roll them in flour.
  6. Heat the oil for deep fat frying.
  7. Make the batter by mixing the flour, egg, baking powder and oil and adding enough milk to make the batter a medium texture (not too thick, not too runny, don't worry if it's a bit lumpy).
  8. Sorry, I never bother to measure this.
  9. Dip the meatballs in the batter and cook in the hot fat until a medium golden color.
  10. Drain on a plate covered with paper towel.
  11. Stick with a toothpick.
  12. These are good served with a dipping sauce such as sweet and sour, plum, soya, or honey and garlic, (or a choice).
  13. Makes a nice appetizer.
