Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together; beat in egg.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into batter alternately with buttermilk.
  3. Fold berries in gently. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 5" loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
