Bestest Buttercream Icing

Yields: 1 cake
Ingredients
- 2 lbs shifted powdered sugar
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1⁄2 cups solid shortening
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1⁄3 cup water, for icing (decorations) or 1⁄4 cup water, for stiff (decorations)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon almond extract
- milk
Directions
- Cream shortening and butter together at med speed. Add extracts.
- Slowly add powdered sugar a cup or so at a time. Alternate with water.
- Continue to mix at med speed until light and fluffy.
- Add milk a tsp at a time until the desired stiffness.
- Can also play with the flavorings. Add more vanilla or almond, even butter flavored. (I love it creamier with milk and extra vanilla).
- Will keep in frig for up to 2 weeks in airtight container.
