Berry-Mint Iced Tea

Yields: 3 1/2 quarts

Ingredients

  • 20  ounces frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1 12 quarts water (boiling)
  • 3  family-size tea bags (Lipton)
  • 12 cup of fresh mint, chopped
  • 13 cup sugar
  • 2  liters  lemon-lime flavored soda, chilled

Directions

  1. Process strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides.
  2. Set puree aside.
  3. Pour boiling water over tea bags and mint.
  4. Steep 5 minutes.
  5. Remove tea bags, squeezing gently.
  6. Pour through a wire-mesh strainer into a container, discarding solids.
  7. Stir in puree and sugar and chill.
  8. Stir in soft drink just before serving.
