Berry Delicious Dessert Bars

This recipe is very versatile because you can use whatever berries are in season, (or on sale) or whatever berries you like! Show more

Yields: 6 bars

Ingredients

  • Crust

  • 2  cups flour
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 1  cup butter
  • 12 cup  nuts (any kind you like, chopped)
  • Cream cheese layer

  • 16  ounces cream cheese
  • 1  cup powdered sugar
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 8  ounces  whipped topping
  • Fruit layer

  • 10  ounces  your favorite berries
  • 1 (4 3/4ounce) package  raspberry  junket danish dessert mix or 1 (4 3/4ounce) package  strawberry-flavor danish dessert mix
  • 1 34 cups cold water or 1 34 cups  apple juice

Directions

  1. For crust: Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl
  2. Pat into a 9X13 pan like you would pie dough.
  3. Bake at 275 degrees for 15 minutes.
  4. For cream cheese layer: Cream together cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer.
  5. fold in whipped topping.
  6. spread onto cooled crust.
  7. For fruit layer:
  8. Bring water and danish dessert mix to a boil for one minute.
  9. Remove from heat and add in berries of your choice.
  10. Spread on top of cream cheese layer.
  11. Refrigerate until ready to eat!
