Beef Stew Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!!

This stew will satisfy even the most pickiest eater!

• Serves: 6-8

Ingredients

• 2  tablespoons shortening
• 3  lbs stewing beef, cubed
• 2  large onions, sliced
• 1 (20 ounce) can tomatoes
• 2  garlic cloves, pressed
• 1  cup  sliced celery
• 1⁄4 cup  chopped parsley
• 1  bay leaf
• 1⁄2 teaspoon  ground thyme
• 1  tablespoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
• 2 1⁄2 cups water
• 12  small carrots, sliced
• 1  cup peas
• 12  small  white onions
• 6  potatoes, quartered
• 1⁄2 cup flour
• 3⁄4 cup cold water

Directions

1. Melt shortening in 6 quart pot and brown meat.
2. Add next 10 ingredients and bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2 hours.
4. Add next 4 ingredients and simmer, covered, 1 hour.
5. Blend flour with cold water and stir into stew to thicken.
6. Enjoy!
