Beef N'Potato Bake

This is a nice quick casserole. I don't particularly like mixed veggies, but this combination won me over. Show more

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 4  cups frozen hash browns, thawed (I used the shredded kind)
  • 3  tablespoons  vegetable oil
  • 18 teaspoon pepper
  • 1  lb ground beef
  • 2  packages  brown gravy mix
  • 1  cup water
  • 12 teaspoon  garlic salt
  • 1 (10 ounce) package  frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1  cup  shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1  can  fried onions

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish, combine oil, hash browns and pepper.
  3. Press firmly to sides and bottom of dish.
  4. Bake uncovered@ 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
  5. Brown beef, drain.
  6. Stir in gravy pkgs, water, garlic salt.
  7. Bring to boil.
  8. Add veggies and reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Stir in 1/2 cheese and 1/2 can fried onions.
  10. Bake 15 minutes@ 350 degrees.
  11. Sprinkle remainder of cheese and onions on top and bake another 5 minutes.
