Beef Calzone

  1. In skillet over medium heat cook beef, breaking up with spoon for 5 minutes or until no longer pink.
  2. Drain off any fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, green peppers, mushrooms, basil, salt and pepper.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes or until onion is softened.
  5. Stir in carrot and tomato sauce and set aside.
  6. On floured surface roll dough into 4 (8") circles.
  7. Divide filling over half of each circle and sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Fold dough over and pinch to seal.
  9. Sprinkle baking sheet with cornmeal.
  10. Place calzones on top and dust with flour.
  11. Bake in centre of 425 oven for 20 minutes or until golden.
