Beef Barley Soup

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 (14 ounce) can tomatoes
- 1 lb lean stewing beef, cubed
- 1 cup cut green beans
- 1 cup cubed parsnips or 1 cup potato
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped carrot
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Directions
- Combine all ingredients, except peas, barley, salt and pepper in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, adding peas and barley during the last 20 minutes.
- Discard bay leaf and season to taste with salt and pepper.
