Bavarian Apple Torte

Ingredients
CRUST
- 3⁄4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1⁄2 cup softened butter
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
FILLING
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 -2 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1⁄8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 cup sliced almonds
Directions
- Blend together the crust ingredients to form a soft dough. Press into an 8 inch springform pan that has been lightly greased. Cover the bottom and 1 1/2 inches on the sides of the pan.
- Blend together the next 5 ingredients for the filling. Pour into crust.
- Combine apples with sugar and cinnamon. Place the mixture on top of the filling.
- Sprinkle almonds over the top.
- Bake at 350 F for 60-70 mns.
- Note: an apple crisp topping works as well.
