Basic Hummus

Yields: 1 2/3 cups dip
Ingredients
- 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1⁄4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup olive oil
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted (optional)
- 1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley
Directions
- In a blender or food processor combine the garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, oil, and salt. Cover and blend or process until smooth, scraping sides as necessary.
- Spoon the hummus onto a serving platter. If desired garnish with pine nuts. Sprinkle with parsley.
