Basic Croquette Sauce

  1. Melt the butter, then stir in the flour and rub hard with a wooden spoon to make a smooth paste. Stirring constantly, gradually add remaiing ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sauce is very thick. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
