Basic Barley

Basic cooked barley can be used in a salad or as a rice substitute.

Serves: 4

Yields: 4 cups

Ingredients

  • 1  cup barley
  • 3  cups water or 3  cups broth
  • 12 teaspoon salt (if using water, omit if using broth)

Directions

  1. Rinse and clean barley.
  2. Put all ingredients in rice cooker and let it work.
  3. Leave in rice cooker for another 5 minutes to let finish steaming. Fluff and serve or cool to include in salads.
