Baked Steak a La Lois

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 2  lbs  sirloin steaks, cut 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1  large Spanish onion, diced
  • 1 (4 ounce) can button mushrooms, drained
  • 6  pimento stuffed olives, sliced crosswise
  • 2  tablespoons butter
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce

Directions

  1. Cut the meat into serving size pieces and place them on a rack in shallow baking pan or dish, and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Cover with diced onion.
  3. Cover onion with olives and mushrooms.
  4. Dot with butter and cover with chili sauce.
  5. Bane uncovered, in a moderate oven (375 degrees F.) about 45 minutes - less for rare and more for well done.
