Baked Apples With Philly Custard

  1. CUT apples into three slices, place into a large shallow baking dish with the wine and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the brown sugar. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until tender. Spooning the syrup over the apples occasionally.
  2. WHISK together the cream cheese and milk. Heat in a saucepan. Add sugar, vanilla bean and custard powder paste. Bring to the boil, stirring until thickened.
  3. REMOVE apples from syrup, and keep warm. Pour syrup into a small saucepan. Combine arrowroot with some of the syrup to form a paste. Add to saucepan, and simmer until thickened. Serve apple slices with syrup and custard.
