Bacon Cheeseburger Puffs

These are slightly similar to the sausage balls made with bisquick and shredded cheese. I even like them cold. They can be frozen. Recipe came from plainchicken.com. Great appetizer or tailgate snack. I will try adding jarred jalapenos or cooked onion next time. Show more

Serves: 6

Yields: 24 puffs

Ingredients

  • 12 lb ground beef
  • 1 12 cups Bisquick
  • 3  ounces  cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 6 -7  tablespoons buttermilk
  • 2  cups  shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cook and crumble ground beef.
  3. In a bowl, combine bisquick bacon and cheese.
  4. Stir in cooked beef.
  5. Add buttermilk and stir in with a fork until just moistened.
  6. Shape into 1 1/2 inch ball. It will be a bit sticky.
  7. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Cool on wire racks.
  10. Puffs may be frozen. Reheat at 400 degrees 7-9 minutes. They do not need to thaw first.
