Aunt Sharon's Lasagna

Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 lb canned tomato, chopped
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 10 ounces lasagna noodles
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese (sliced thin)
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Brown sausage and drain off fat. Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook lasagna noodles until tender. Drain and rinse.
- Combine remaining ingredients, except mozzarella.
- Place half of the noodles in a 13x9 pan. Spread 1/2 ricotta mixture over noodles. Add 1/2 the meat mixture and 1/2 the mozzarella. Repeat with a second layer.
- Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
