Aunt Sharon's Best Brownies

I've had this recipe for years and years (wrangled it from my son's Godmother!) and it's a consistent, never-fail, chewy/fudgy piece of chocolate Heaven! It goes together very quickly, too! Show more

Serves: 20-24

Yields: 20-24 small brownies

Ingredients

  • 13 cup butter
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 2  tablespoons water
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 2  eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1  cup  semisweet chocolate morsel
  • 14 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 34 cup flour
  • 1  cup  semisweet chocolate morsel (additional)

Directions

  1. Combine butter, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat on medium and stir until sugar is melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Add vanilla, eggs and 1 cup of chocolate morsels (I use Ghirardelli's) and stir until chocolate is melted.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, combine baking soda, salt and flour, mix well. Add warm chocolate mixture and stir gently until combined.
  4. Spray bottom of a 9"x13" baking pan with spray release of choice, then pour in the brownie batter. Wait a minute or two for the batter to even out over the pan, then sprinkle with the additional cup of chocolate morsels.
  5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.
