Aunt Pauline's Lemon Sponge Cake

Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 6 egg whites
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 teaspoon lemon extract
- 1⁄4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Directions
- Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
- Gradually add sugar then extracts.
- Fold in flour sifted with salt a little at a time.
- Beat egg white until foamy, add cream of tartar and beat until they form moist glossy peaks.
- Gold into egg yolk mixture.
- Bake in ungreased tube pan in 325 degree oven, one hour.
