Aunt Nell's Ginger Cookies

This recipe was from my great aunt Nell. It has been a family favorite for about 50 years.

Directions

  1. Thoroughly beat together Crisco, sugar, egg and molasses.
  2. Mix together remaining ingredients and then blend into the first mixture.
  3. Chill dough for 3 hours or overnight.
  4. Shape dough into small balls.
  5. Roll each ball in sugar. Using a glass covered with a wet towel, flatten each ball then sprinkle a little sugar on top.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 11 minutes.
