  1. Place a layer of lady fingers in the bottom of a 2 quart glass bowl.
  2. Prepare Jello using only 1 1/2 cups water. Chill about 30 minutes until thickened. Drain fruit cocktail and add to Jello.
  3. Spoon Jello mixture over lady fingers and refrigerate until set.
  4. Make vanilla pudding according to package directions; Let cool.
  5. Spoon over Jello layer.
  6. Using a mixer, beat whipping cream until thick, while adding confectioners' sugar. Spoon over pudding layer.
  7. Sprinkle top with almonds.
  8. Chill until ready to serve.
