Applesauce Cake

This a delicious applesauce cake, homemade applesauce is the best - and it's so easy to make -

Ingredients

• 1  cup sugar
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1  egg
• 1  cup dates, sliced fine
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1⁄4 teaspoon clove
• 2  cups flour
• 2  cups applesauce
• 1  cup  nuts, coarsely chopped
• 1  cup raisins, chopped
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 2  teaspoons baking soda

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten egg, vanilla and the rest of the ingredients. Mix. Turn into well buttered pan. Bake slowly in moderate oven, 350F for 1 hour.
