Apple Spice Cake

This is another recipe from "101 Things to do with a Cake Mix" by Stephanie Ashcraft. A fun little soft covered book my gran gave me!

Ingredients

• 1 (18 ounce) package  spice cake mix
• 3  eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
• 1⁄3 cup  oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
• 1 1⁄3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
• 3  small apples
• 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1  cup sour cream
• 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
• 1  teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Peel, slice and core the apples.
3. Dice the apples into small pieces.
4. Prepare cake mix according to box directions.
5. Stir apples into batter.
6. Pour cake into a 9x13-inch greased and floured pan.
7. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
8. While cake is baking,combine sweetened condensed milk,sour cream and lemon juice.
9. Take cake from oven and spread sour cream mixture over top; return to oven and bake 10 minutes longer.
10. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.
11. Cool cake and serve-- Keep leftovers refrigerated.
