Apple-Raisin Kugel

I like to use a nice tart apple for this recipe -- like a Granny Smith. For extra creaminess you can add another egg or two. Show more

Ingredients

  • 8  ounces  medium egg noodles
  • 4  eggs, beaten
  • 14 cup butter, melted
  • 3  medium apples, chopped
  • 14 cup  dark seedless raisins
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 12 teaspoons salt
  • 2  teaspoons cinnamon
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Cook and drain noodles and put in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in margarine and eggs.
  3. Peel and chop apples.
  4. Rinse raisins in hot water and drain.
  5. Combine all ingredients together, add seasoning and mix well. Preheat oven to 350 deg F. Pour kugel mixture into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Bake for 40-60 minutes or until lightly browned.
