Apple Pie Rum Punch

Ingredients
- 2 3⁄4 cups water, divided
- 3⁄4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 8 cups apple cider
- 2 1⁄2 cups dark rum
- 1⁄2 cup lemon juice
- ice, for serving
- apple slices and cinnamon stick, for garnish
Directions
- In a small saucepan, combine ¾ Celsius water with brown sugar, orange zest, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sugar has dissolved, 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- In a punch bowl, combine the cooled syrup with the remaining water, cider, rum, lemon juice, and ice. Divide among glasses and garnish each with apple slices and a cinnamon stick.
