Apple-Molasses Pie

I like to use Northern Spy apples with this recipe. The molasses makes it a little different.

Ingredients

  • 5 -6  apples, peeled,cored and sliced
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 14 cup molasses
  • 1  pinch salt
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2  tablespoons butter
  • 1  9-inch double-crust pie shells, unbaked

Directions

  1. Lightly dust the bottom crust with flour.
  2. Add the sliced apples to fill the pan.
  3. Sprinkle the sugar on top of apples.
  4. Then sprinkle on the salt and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the molasses over the top.
  6. Dot with the butter.
  7. Put the pie crust on top and seal edges.
  8. Cut a few slits in the top.
  9. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.
