Apple Fritters

  1. Dry apples with paper towel and set aside. Apples need to be dry or batter will not stick.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg, juice, and 1 1/4 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Mix wet and dry ingredients together until there are no lumps.
  4. In a nonstick pan, heat 1/2 teaspoon of oil. Dip apples in batter and let excess drip off. Saute slices a few at a time. Cook until golden, turn, and brown the other side. Continue until all apples are done. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Top with cinnamon and sugar, honey, or maple syrup.
