Apple Cake 3 Layers

this is said to be the coffeecake that was pope john paul 2 favorite for zaar world tour 6 looks good with the 3 layers as a coffee cake

• Serves: 6

Ingredients

• 1st layer

• 250  g flour or 2  cups flour
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 100  g sugar, 1/2 c
• 150  g butter
• 1  egg

• 2nd layer

• 15  kg apples, peeled sliced in thin layers across (i used 6 )
• 1  cup water
• 3  tablespoons sugar

• 3rd layer

• 200  g  almonds, sliced, i just sprinkled some over
• 4  tablespoons sugar
• 100  ml  cream or 1⁄2 cup  cream
• 1  teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. mix 1st layer together.
2. chill 1 hour.
3. for 2nd layer cook apples in sugar water for 10 minutes.
4. roll out dough.
5. put in spring form pan.
6. arrange apple slices in discs really in bottom.
7. put on sugar then cinnamon.
8. then almonds lastly cream.
9. bake at 180degrees c for 60 minutes about 350 degrees. for 35 minutes in 9 x13 cake pan.
