Apple Butter Spice Cake

This recipe was given to me by a friend who happens to be an excellent baker. I am posting it here so I will not misplace it.

• Serves: 6

Ingredients

• 1  cup apple butter
• 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
• 1⁄3 cup molasses
• 1⁄4 cup  vegetable oil
• 1  large egg
• 2  teaspoons vanilla
• 2  cups all-purpose flour
• 1⁄2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1  tablespoon ginger
• 2  teaspoons cinnamon
• 1  teaspoon allspice
• 1⁄4 teaspoon clove
• 2  teaspoons baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Prepare a 7 x ll inch baking tin
3. Whisk together the first 6 ingredients.
4. Sift all dry ingredients and add to the above.
5. Mix until just combined.
