- Sift flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Beat the egg; add milk and grated onion.
- Stir liquid into dry mixture all at once and drop by teaspoonfuls into deep fat (400 F).
- Fry and turn until golden brown.
- Drain on paper toweling.
