Anise Pizzelles

These cookies are for those of us who love anise. This recipe was given to me by an italian gentleman where I worked. These taste better if left to sit for a day or two.

Ingredients

• 1  cup margarine
• 2  cups sugar
• 6  eggs, well beaten
• 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1  teaspoon  anise oil
• 1  teaspoon  anise flavoring
• 2  teaspoons vanilla
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
• 4 1⁄2 cups flour

Directions

1. Melt and cool margarine.
2. Beat eggs until foamy.
3. Add sugar,cinnamon,flavorings,oil,and margarine,mix well.
4. Add flour mixed with baking powder gradually. (Dough should be thick not watery).
5. Cook on iron following manufacturers instructions.
