Amish Vanilla Pie

Ingredients
- 2 pie crusts, 9 inches each
Pie Mixture
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Crumb Topping
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄4 cup shortening
Directions
- Combine pie mixture ingredients and cook until thickened.
- Pour into two pie crusts.
- Combine crumb topping ingredients and sprinkle over filled pie crusts.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
