Amish Dairy Casserole

This recipe comes from 'Amish Friends Cookbook', by Wanda E. Brunstetter. It sounded really easy, hearty and comforting so I had to try it. It didn't fail to impress. Show more

Ingredients

  • 8  cups raw potatoes, shredded
  • 2  cups  uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2  cups  frozen peas
  • 2  cups cooked ham (etc.) or 2  cups  cooked sausage (etc.) or 2  cups  cooked beef (etc.)
  • 3  teaspoons salt
  • 12 cup onion, chopped
  • 4  cups cheese, shredded
  • 2  quarts milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. Layer ingredients in a large baking dish in order given; pour milk over all.
  3. Bake for 2 1/2 hours.
