Almost Instant Baked Apple

I started making this for myself as a little treat when I was probably 10 or 11 years old. I had a Better Homes and Gardens Junior Cookbook of my own, from which I adapted the recipe to serve one and to use our brand new appliance -- a microwave! Show more

Directions

  1. Wash, dry, and core the apple. Peel a strip of skin from around the cored center. Put apple in a microwave-proof bowl.
  2. Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins, and fill the apple with the mixture. You could add chopped, nuts, too, if you wanted. Dot with the butter. Pour the water around the apple.
  3. Bake in the microwave on HI power for about two minutes and 30 seconds, and let it rest for a minute or two before eating. When it is done, a fork will prick into the apple easily. Pour cold cream over the top, if desired, and eat it up!
