Almond Butterscotch Bars

This is a neighborhood pass along recipe that offers a nice blend of flavors between the dough and the chips and nuts and is a bar that is less chewy and more toward the crisp side. Show more

Yields: 24-36 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1  cup butter (softened)
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 teaspoon  almond extract
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2  cups flour
  • 1  cup  butterscotch chips
  • 1  cup  slivered almonds

Directions

  1. Cream Butter and brown sugar. Add extracts and salt. Gradually add flour, Press into ungreased 10 x 15 jelly roll pan. Sprinkle butterscotch chips and almonds over dough and press lightly. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Cool and cut. Adjust pan size and cooking time if you prefer a more chewy cookie.
