Almond Buttercrunch Candy

Old time candy recipe....

Yields: 3/4 lb

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  slivered and  blanched almond, toasted
  • 12 cup butter (110 gms)
  • 12 cup sugar (100 gms)
  • 1  tablespoon light corn syrup

Directions

  1. Line bottom and sides of 8 by 9 inch cake pan with foil.
  2. Butter heavily.
  3. Combine almonds, butter, sugar and corn syrup in 10 inch skillet.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture turns a golden brown; about 5 to 6 minutes.
  5. Quickly spread candy in prepared pan.
  6. Cool until firm.
  7. Remove candy from pan by lifting edges of foil.
  8. Break into pieces if desired.
