Ingredients

  • Cake

  • 12 cup flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking powder
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 14 cup margarine or 14 cup butter
  • 14 cup  Tia Maria (or other coffee liqueur)
  • 14 cup  sliced almonds
  • Sauce

  • 14 cup brown sugar
  • 14 cup  Tia Maria (or other coffee liqueur)
  • 12 cup hot water (not boiling)

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cream the 1/2 cup of sugar and margarine. Stir in the flour mixture and 1/4 cup Tia Maria; fold in almonds.
  3. Spread into a lightly greased 1.4 liter Crockpot.
  4. Combine 1/4 cup brown sugar, the 1/4 cup of Tia Maria, and the hot water; stir until sugar is dissolved.
  5. Gently pour over cake batter.
  6. Cook on high for 1-1/2 to 2 hours (until a toothpick comes out clean), depending on your Crockpot.
