A College Student's Egg Drop Soup

As a college student, I don't have very many ingredients laying around.. which makes this recipe simple...however, I have a love for egg drop soup. This is to all the people who don't have a fully stocked kitchen! I have compiled together a recipe for all of you! :) Show more

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1  egg, beaten
  • 3  teaspoons cornstarch, and a tiny tad of water mixed with it (to thicken the soup)
  •  green onion (optional)
  • 3  dashes soy sauce
  • 0.5 (3 ounce) package  ramen noodles, noodle's chicken flavor package
  •  salt

Directions

  1. Pour chicken broth into a saucepan over med high heat. Add a few dashes of soy sauce to taste, and salt to taste.
  2. Allow the mixture to boil, and add the cornstarch mix with water to it, until the consistency you want for your soup is achieved.
  3. Add in Ramen Noodle Packet (If you would like a spicier soup, I suggest putting the whole package, but I make it with just half) .
  4. Take the mixture off the heat and immediately drizzle the egg from a fork into your mixture, while stirring in a circular motion.
  5. Add green onions on top and you’re done! :).
