20 Minute Rolls

These don't even have to rise before baking! Ideal if you are short on time and want fresh bread for dinner! Can be used to make rolls or a loaf of bread (I like to do round loafs on a cookie sheet). From http://craftykin.blogspot.ca/. Show more

Yields: 8 buns

Ingredients

  • 1 14 cups warm water
  • 3  tablespoons sugar
  • 1 12 tablespoons  yeast
  • 1  tablespoon  oil
  • 3  cups flour (can use white or wholemeal)
  • 1  teaspoon salt
  • 12 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer bowl and knead for 4 minutes.
  2. Shape for use as buns or loaf.
  3. Paint with oil or milk (if you can be bothered).
  4. Bake at 400 degrees (10-15 minutes for buns, 30-40 minutes for loaf).
