Greetings; I am a transplant from Brooklyn, NY. My family and I moved to rural Wasington St. in the summer of 1988. We absolutely love the Pacific NW. I come from a very Sicilian famliy. Sicilians enjoy a vast array of foods being influenced by Greece, France, Arabia & Ethiopia & of course Italy to name a few. It dosen't hurt being right out there in the Mediterrainean Sea. My maternal Grandmother had a great influ- ence on me. When I look back, I see her as a true "Domestic Goddess" !! There isn't anything she made that we didn't like. I am the only one who followed in her footsteps as to the creativity & expertise she displayed in cookling. She was a genius. I know I sound like I'm tooting my own horn... But, I am confident enough to do so. I look to cook books and websites such as this one for ideas and a basis as to what I am interested in preparing. For some reason, I can almost never find a recipe that I can "LEAVE ALONE". I always find some reason to manipulate it in some way. That is a good thing, since it conotates a true Gourmet Spirit and palate. Of course the simple things are some of the best things & I do force myself to prepare traditionally. I have developed some very wonderful dishes and sauces. Some sinfully rich and others that are light and lowfat/lowcal. Perhaps I will share them with all when I get a chance to sit here and figure out how to word them so that all of society can understand them. Bon Appetite ! Araidiaterraluna
