I spent a lot of time as an adult on the hectic, high cost of living US east coast, getting my doctorate and working very hard. But ten years ago I found a small piece of paradise in an unlikely place. I'm a full professor at a small college in the middle of nowhere, Georgia, US. Low stress, nice climate, easy lifestyle. Winter only really lasts about two months and is never that cold; year-round I have things blooming in my yard. I love flower gardening, especially camellias, asiatic lilies and bearded iris, and I love cooking in my spare time. Married 25 years, no kids (18-year-old college students away from home for the first time are more than enough for my patience level). I'm trying to do better with fruits and veggies in our diet, so that's my primary recipe search these days. However, I am easily distracted by anything involving extra sharp cheddar, cayenne pepper, potatoes, or pecans (I live in a long-abandoned commercial pecan grove with 12 mature, hundred-year-old pecan trees in my yard, lots of pecans in the freezer, and often lots of fresh pecans on the ground - if I can get them before the squirrels do).
