I was born in Southern California to a Cuban mother and Ecuadorian father. My father passed away when I was 1 year old so I grew up with my mother's side of the family as the greater food influence. I know some Ecuadorian recipes, but my forte is in Cuban cooking. I moved up north to go to school (Go, Bears!), and I stayed living in the Bay Area. I love eating at restaurants and trying new things to learn new tastes and give myself pointers and ideas when cooking. The art of cooking and the joy of eating are two of life's pleasures that I thoroughly appreciate, even if I don't always get them right! I hope you all enjoy this site as much as I do.
