Born and raised in one of the Great Lake states. Married for nearly 20 years to a military man. We've been stationed nearly everywhere...but we do call Texas home. Currently we are stationed in Japan, but longing to be back in Texas...hopefully sometime soon! I am into making panini's (right now) and using my new Griddler...which I love! I also recently bought a new bread machine and have enjoyed learning how to use it and make loaves of fresh bread for my family. Wow! It is so much easier and cleaner than baking by hand. :) Love Tex-Mex food. Love to bake, but I am trying to cut down on the sugar...so, baking is out for a while! My grandmothers were awesome bakers, so I do have terrific recipes from them. I love cheese! And being overseas, I do miss the variety that we can get in the states. Really, really don't like goat cheese though. :( Things I cannot live without in my kitchen: My knives, Penzey's spices, food processor, and my trusty ole cast iron skillet...oh my, I almost forgot to mention the tongs I use for everything! Pet peeves: Ketchup listed as a gourmet condiment. Cream of anything soups, although I have been known to use them...I still get annoyed. Cheese Whiz...I mean, come on!!! :) Am looking for fabulous vegetable side dishes...any help would be appreciated! Nothing too fancy as we don't have a huge selection of "ecclectic" foods here. How do I rate recipes? ***** The "WOW" Factor! Everyone loved, asked for seconds, and/or made a request for a repeat. **** Enjoyed my all...a definate repeat. *** Liked, but not enough to make again. ** Not really our cup of tea * Did not like at all
