I have worked in the food service industry for over 30 years. I have held a position in a local country club for more the 15 years where I prepare their special desserts as well as handling garnishing salads and whatever else. I also work as the cook in a special half-way house for women and children coming out of crisis. I spend time with the ladise teaching them how to cook and setting an example by preparing them balanced meals every day. I try to expose these women to a variety of foods and a variety of cooking methods (I try to eliminate the frying). I spend a lot of my spare time researching recipes, trying to get new ideas and new twists on old recipes. It is also rewarding for me to help residents who have special deietary needs so they can comply with their medical orders. I love being creative in my cooking and baking, and I love to make special cakes for people for special occasions.
