I am a former "I hate to cook" type who discovered that eating out all the time was making me fat. I am a novice in the kitchen, but I'm almost always happier with meals I make in vs. eat out. I do LOVE a truly great dining experience, it is worth it to let someone else do the cooking in those situations. But I am eating out much less now than I used to. I look for lighter, healthier recipes. I'm mostly cooking for just my husband and myself, but occasionally like to entertain and don't want to clog my friends' arteries either!
