I love to cook, and have a family of picky eaters. Give 'em cheese, grease and french fries and they are happy. So I am always on the lookout for meals that will make them happy but which are relatively healthy. My favorite cookbook is _The Welcome Table_ by Jessica Harris. Loads of African American recipes that have stood the test of time. My passions in cooking are fresh, colorful ingredients. I love cooking from scratch. My peeves are when people take shortcuts in cooking without realizing what they are doing. But I also believe that the knowledgeable chef knows how to make wise substitutions. :)
